Mary Ann co-founded A Home of My Own in 2016. She is the mother of Ryan Egan, a young man with developmental disabilities. She has spent the last 25+ years fighting for the rights and care of disabled children and adults. Mary Ann served the students of Johnson City School District on the Committee on Preschool Education (CPSE) and the Committee for Special Education (CSE). She also sat on the board of the Human Rights Committee at Broome Developmental Services. Additionally, Mary Ann contributed to the local Achieve program creating a library as well as cooking and yoga classes. She is a floral designer having run her own floral design business, Heatherglen Florals, for more than 25 years.


Paul Egan

Paul co-founded A Home of My Own in 2016. He spent his career working for IBM in Endicott, NY initially as a manufacturing engineer for 15 years before becoming an IT Architect until his retirement in 2016. At this time, Paul devoted his time and efforts to help found A Home of My Own with his wife, Mary Ann, as a way to ensure that Ryan had the support he needed to live independently and help other families in the same circumstances.  Paul has a Master of Science Degree in Chemistry.


Denise Stoughton

Treasurer, Board of Directors

Denise is currently Board Treasurer for A Home of My Own.   Denise has more than 30 years of financial, business operations, and management experience with IBM Corporation, leading global teams to develop, implement and achieve strategic goals. Denise also serves on the board of Visions Credit Union, most recently earning Designation Credit Union Board Member status.  As a parent of a special needs adult, she is well-aware of the complex realities which need to be addressed in order for A Home of My Own to continue successfully thriving and expanding into the future. Denise’s educational background includes a Master of Business Administration in Finance, a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management.


Sharon Witte

Sharon Witte

Secretary, Board of Directors

Sharon graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a BS degree and began a 42-year career in banking most recently serving as VP of Commercial Loans. During that time, she served on numerous volunteer boards including Broome County United Way, Broome County IDA, Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome and the Ross Park Zoo, where she currently serves as vice president. In 2014, Sharon became a New York State Certified Personal Care Aide and now manages At Home Help, a personal care business. In addition to caring for her clients, her hobbies include showing dogs, horses, or her vintage two-seater convertibles in various events.


John W. Cosgrove

John W. Cosgrove

Member, Board of Directors

John W. Cosgrove, Chief Executive Officer of AllOne Foundation & Charities, brings 40 years of experience in the private, non-profit, public, and community service arenas to A Home of My Own. He has served as Executive Director of the Alliance of National Heritage Areas, Lackawanna Heritage Valley, a State and National Heritage Area, and the Governor’s Office of Citizen Service. He was instrumental in initiating the national service program, AmeriCorps, in Pennsylvania. Cosgrove is a Trustee of the Margaret Briggs Foundation, a member of the national Board of Directors of the Ignatian Volunteer Corps and a former Chairman of the Board of NeighborWorks NEPA.

Mr. Cosgrove holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Southeastern University in Washington, D.C., and has completed the Executive Education programs in Health Care Management at the Yale University School of Management and in Nonprofit Profit Executive Leadership at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.


William (Hank) Lobb

William (Hank) Lobb

Member, Board of Directors

Hank is the Assistant Director of Community Services at Springbrook Development Disability Services, where he has worked for the past 21 years. He has experience in Medicaid, Housing, and Self-Directed Services for individuals like the residents for A Home of My Own. Lobb understands the workings and complexities of managing a home for developmentally disabled individuals. He graduated from Hartwick College, Oneonta, New York with a Bachelor of Psychology degree.


William (Hank) Lobb

Bruce Beckman

Member, Board of Directors

Bruce is an associate attorney at Levene Gouldin & Thompson, LLP. His law practice specializes in wills, trusts and estates, elder law, and real estate. Bruce graduated with a BS in Labor and Employment Relations and a BA in History from Penn State and has a law degree from Rutgers University Law School. He also volunteers with The Legal Aid Society of Mid New York representing qualifying tenants in Binghamton city housing court. Bruce is also a board member of Meals on Wheels of Western Broome.

Bruce has had his legal scholarship published in the Rutgers International Law and Human Rights Journal. Prior to working at Levene Gouldin & Thompson, Bruce interned for the honorable James J. Deluca in Bergen County New Jersey Superior Court, where he gained legal experience in probate, business law, contested estates, and other aspects of law in the General Equity part of the Chancery Division of that court.


Cecile Clark

House Manager

Cecile is a Licensed Practical Nurse who most recently worked for the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities caring for residents in group homes. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist and has a Certificate in Paralegal. Other experience includes working as an LPN in oral surgery, a massage therapist, a quality assurance team leader in circuit board manufacturing, and a Patient Care Assistant at Lourdes Hospital. In her role with A Home of My Own, Cecile is responsible for communication with families of our residents, writing and maintaining operating procedures, and scheduling staff for the house.


Anne Egan

Communications and /grant Writer

Anne is the Executive Director of the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank in Allentown, PA. Before entering the non-profit world, Anne spent more than 35 years in the publishing industry, writing and editing books and magazines. She brings this combined experience to write grants and create the marketing communications for A Home of My Own. She holds a Bachelor Degree from Montclair State University.
